빼빼로 날/빼빼로 데이
(Peppero Day)
|
빼빼로 날/빼빼로 데이. Whatever you call it it's the day when you give and recieve 빼빼로 from your loved ones.
11/11. it looks sorta like 4 빼빼로 sticks. I must admit it's now one of my favorite holidays. This 11/11 I went to the Korean market and got some 빼빼로. The place was pretty packed with other people also buying 빼빼로. Naturally I bought one of the 빼빼로 데이 special big boxes. They are my favorite. They come with 8 little 빼빼로 boxes inside. I gave two of those boxes out and shared some sticks with my boyfriend (내 남자친구). This is the second year I've celebrated Peppero Day. Last year my friend Lisa and I went to the Korean market (Which at the time was in a much smaller location) and bought some of the big boxes. Peppero Day in Korea is sort of like how Valentines Day is now in America. Kids even bring lots of peppero to school and give it out to their friends and teachers. As you can see from the second picture they even have the area where you fill out who it's to and you can include a little message and your phone number. However, the phone number area is missing a whole box to be use-able in America. The message on the back says something like "Accept my love and friendship". Cute message. Do you celebrate Peppero Day? What do you do? If you haven't yet will you in the future? Have you had Peppero before? I encourage you to try it sometime! |
