Expanding Your Interests How to find new K-pop in the ever-growing universe
My own experience with Kpop so far has helped me learn absolutely nothing new about my interest in music in general. What I like when it comes to music is everywhere. And so far as I can tell there is no pattern or likeness. A song either clicks with me or it doesn't. I like a group or I don't. I promise you that no one can predict 100% whether I'm going to like a song or group or not. I also tend to change my mind about things sometimes. A song or group may grow on me overtime. But it is important to me to continue to find new songs and groups that I do like so I can expand my interests, library and possibility of making friends.
I have found many different ways to expand my interests. It's not easy at times cause you really do just get into a routine of listening to all the same songs by all the same artists. When you have a good sized library it's pretty easy to just live with it as is and stay in your 'perfect world of k-pop'. However, if you do this you are missing out on so much other great K-pop that is out there. There are new rookie groups coming out every week or so. Groups and solo artists new and old are constantly pumping out new songs and if you stay in your bubble you will miss out on all of it.
Let's help you expand your Library. First, there are so many Youtube channels you can follow. Loen and CJEM both post videos by many artists from many different companies. They are distributors. So it'd be easier to follow them than to follow all the seperate group channels. You can also follow company channels like YG, JYP, SM, TSENT, happyfaceent, Cube, etc. I think company channels are much more convenient than group channels while not as convenient as the distributor channels. The next step is up to you though. You have to actually take the time to watch all the MV's that show up
