In Anticipation for the VIXX show in Dallas
I'll be honest. I was not much of a VIXX fan before I found out they were coming to Texas. But now that they are coming here I find myself watching their music videos and listening to their music and recognizing their faces and songs. For me that just goes to show you don't just go where your fans are because you create fans by having a show in any location. My hope for this show is that it not only creates more VIXX fans in Texas but more Kpop fans in general. I thought I was feeling let down by Kpop and the fans but what it was was me, myself getting stuck in a stale place where I wasn't advancing any in my knowledge and I wasn't trying anything new. I had been doing the Kpop101 panel for years and figured out that I really don't care too much to do that panel anymore at conventions.
So as well as letting myself get into some new music I decided to start doing a Kpop202 panel at conventions. I also changed my co-panelist to a friend of mine who lives a lot closer to me so we can plan things together. For those who have been to my last few panels with Lisa, you saw how we had problems with the projector, or rather a lack of a projector. Sade and I will be purchasing our own projector. So no worries ^_^ We will be talking about more and not only showing music videos but talking in depth about what they are (people dancing in front of a camera with special lighting and effects and editing and junk). Basically we aren't just going to marvel at how pretty the video and the people are but rather we are going to dissect why it is all like that. I also want to talk about the Korean Culture and food etc.
Back to my point. After the VIXX show I will have gone to a full blown Kpop concert for the first time and I'm going to take that knowledge and experience with me to my first Kpop202. Sade is going to the show as well so she will be able to help me for sure. I'm both afraid of and looking forward to the show day. I'll be leaving Austin around noon that day to head to Grand Prairie where I will then walk to my hotel (because it's right down the street.) I'll check in and start preparing for the concert. My friend and I will go together but after going in we will seperate because our tickets have us in very different places in theatre. I'll meet back up with her when everything is over and we'll go back to our hotel and attempt to sleep. The next day around 3pm I'll be catching the bus back to Austin. I'll probably suffer from some PCSD (Post Concert Stress Disorder) -haha- Then I'll definitely blog/vlog about it.
I guess my point here is:
1.) I am anticipating this show
2.) I'm changing things up for Conventions (Ikkicon, Anime Overload(?), San Japan)
and finally 3.) When you feel bored when Kpop go out of your comfort zone and see what you can find.
And of course come to the VIXX show and come to my panels ^_^ and Kpop101 if Lisa is still doing it.
