I guess you could call this a Fan Account
So last weekend was the VIXX: Milky Way Global Showcase in Dallas, Texas. I traveled farther than I ever have before for a concert because this was the first big K-pop concert in Texas that I had the chance to go to. For those of you who have kept track of all K-pop concerts in Texas ever, you know that there have been 3 concerts here in the past 4 years; Wondergirls and 2pm in 2010, F(x) earlier in 2013 and VIXX last weekend. I had just gotten into K-pop in Oct/Nov of 2010 so I missed the WG and 2pm show. But I made it to F(x) and I made it to VIXX. I made it a priority since I ran 3 (now run 4) K-pop Texas facebook pages. I need to put my money where my mouth is and attend every K-pop show that comes to Texas. So I made sure I made it to the concert even though I didn't really get into VIXX until I heard about them coming to Texas. But, cut me some slack. I like all of their songs now. And I love them for coming to Texas.
I missed the press conference (which is why all pics used will be borrowed and sourced). But I still enjoyed myself and loved the show. I'm sorry if this is choppy but I don't remember much and taking video was forbidden. Some people did take pics/video but I won't say anything about them. What I do remember though is the chanting at the beginning "We want VIXX! We want VIXX!" It was such a beautiful sound. Then turning around (BTW I WAS FRONT ROW IN THE MIDDLE!!! THANKS TO WITHVIXX! YOU GUYS ROCK!) and seeing tons of lightsticks in the air waving in sync with the chanting. Then when they finally come on stage I was stunned at first then I started crying. Tears streaming down my face, I tried to stop and hide my face not wanting the boys to see me cry, but it was hard. I was so happy to see a Kpop group on stage in a large venue with a couple hundred fans behind me also enjoying the show. I did wish more people would have came but I still feel like we did a good job with the short notice and the issues some people had buying tickets and other issues that arose. We still filled a little more than half of the theater. Also with it being a group that just came out last year I'd say they already had a well sized fan base in Texas and southern US. So after I got over my crying I was laughing and cheering and dancing. The guys did a great job. They would sing a few songs then talk for awhile. During one of their talks they sang a little part of 'Only You'. At one point later on some lucky girl got to go onstage and be fought over by Hyuk and Hong Bin. Of course every girl in the crowd was jealous, but we were still nice and happy we got to watch the show. The guys did individual performances. Leo sang, Hyuk and Hong Bin danced for the girl, Ravi rapped and danced, N did a sort of interpretive dance with a 'blindfold' on. I say 'blindfold' because it had slits for the eyes. And I don't remember Ken doing anything... Maybe he sang too. But I can't remember. Afterwards they talked again, answered questions we asked them and looked at messages we left them. Then they did a few more performances one of which was an acoustic version of 'Hyde' and said goodbye. We chanted more. We couldn't let it end like that. After waiting they came back out in different costumes and performed GR8U. i had been waiting for that since the beginning of the show. Then they took a picture with us and left, this time for good.
However there were still things to done. After the show some fans had wristbands that allowed them to take a picture with VIXX and others got to high five VIXX and pick up a signed poster ( that was signed by one random member). I got the high five and poster. They took us in one row at a time and it went by pretty quick. Then I got my poster (which I later found out was signed by Hyuk). Afterwards I ran into KML of JREKML and took a picture with her. Then I got my friends together and we left. I can't speak for anyone else but I had a great time at the show and I really hope we get more K-pop concerts in Texas. Well, actually, don't quote me on this but WE WILL GET MORE KPOP CONCERTS IN TEXAS SOMEDAY.
